Can you Raid 0 four USB hard drives that are in seperate enclosers? So basically i have 4 seperate USB enclosers hooked up to my computer. Can I Raid 0 them?

Yes. Will it be any faster? Probably not. I forget whether USB ports share bandwidth or if each gets its own. And you'd need all 4 disks whenever you want data off one of them.

Is this done through software after the OS has been loaded, or during the OS installation?

It'll be in software, since I don't know of any hardware that does this with 4 separate enclosures. There exist enclosures that raid the hard drives and then link to the computer, but that doesn't sound like what you want. If you use Windows XP or Vista, I don't think it'll let you establish the RAID during OS install, but if you're an alt-os person I'm sure that you could manage to get it going during that phase.

What's your goal? Why do you want to do this?
