I am interested in running my two WD 36 gig SATA raptors in a raid 0. I was using an MSI motherboard that had built on raid, but I have moved those to another pc now and this pc only has raid 1 available on the motherboard (yes, it is a Dell).
Anyway, if I am wanting to run just these 2 Raptors in raid 0, then would a pci card be good enough or can it not push enough through the pci to really see any performance gain? I am looking for performance, on a budget
If have read the long thread in here about the raid recommendations, but that post was based on running 4 hd's in raid and not 2.
Any card suggestions would be appreciated.
The motherboard I am working with is a Foxconn g33m02 with built on raid 1 only. My MSI Neo 4 Platinum SLI board crapped out on me and I had to move my stuff over to this Dell 530 to play with while the board is being replaced under warranty.
Maximum PC had a good article on raid last month, but they used like a $1,000 raid card for their test
Thanks!
