Radiator Temperature Question.

Lets say we put Water Cooling on a Q6600 CPU only. (120mm Fan on the rad)

Is the air coming out of the radiator is hot ? Can you feel the hot air ? :confused:

Dont ask me why I need to know that :p
 
It shouldn't be too bad -- but it depends on the flow rate, the fan speed, the size of the radiator, how much you overclock the processor.

When I was helping my friend build a CPU isolated WC loop, i think the air was about room temp, to be honest. but YMMV

A cubic foot of air can hold a lot of heat before warming up. Air exiting the radiator under normal conditions should be 2-3c over room temperature - and 5-6c over room temperature during sustained load.

I'm not sure what you mean... Why do you want your radiator to exhaust hot air?

The radiator will exhaust as much heat as it has available to it, given your flow rate and fan speed...

If you want the air to come out of your radiator warmer, add more heat to the loop.
 
Keep in mind at best you are going to be dumping 150ish watts of heat, much much less at idle/low load 30/75 say thats not going to get even a small rad hot, so no coffee warmer/space heater for you. A table lamp with a 100w bulb will put out more heat most of the time. As mentioned above its the scale of the thing, 100W from something the size of a light bulb can get the glass hot and you can feel the heat for a couple of inches but its not like a fire or anything. 100W inside something the size of a quad core die(s) is a thermal problem but once you get it out of that small die, 100w is 100w.
