I currently have a Rx240 cooling CPU only. I'm going to add my 5850 to the loop. Adding a Rx120 to the loop for the GPU is cheaper than swaping the Rx240 for a Rx360. So the question is, would adding the Rx120 to my existing loop increase my cpu temp? Or is a single 360 the way to go?
 
A single 120+240 radiator should have more surface area than a 360, so it should cool slightly better (because of the 2 edges = more pipes? though I might be wrong) if that difference would be significant or not i'm not so sure.

120+240 would be easier to fit in most cases (not being a giant long strip), and wouldn't leave you with a spare 240 when you bought the 360. Thought you could use both 240+360 :D

As to it raising CPU tempreture,s that depends on how much heat the GPU puts out, and iff that can be covered by the 120mm radiator. If not then youll see CPU go up from what they were before.
 
A 5850 + additional 120 radiator probably will not lead to a big increase in CPU temperature. The 58xx series have always put out less heat and used less power than their competitors. I believe the only ones more efficient for the same power are the 68xx series. You'll probably see an increase of approximately 3-5 C.

It was less than a week old and the OP didn't get many responses. Also there is no set in stone way to run your WC setup, eventually the temps are going to be uniform regardless of what order things are in.

For the OP the dual radiator will be all you need to cool the CPU and one 5850. I cool an overclocked 920 and a 4870x2 with a dual Black Ice Pro and my load temps when stressing both the CPU & GPU are around 60-65. Adding another radiator or switching to a larger radiator will help your teams, but it won't increase performance at all.
 
Well, the main point was res -> pump, he had pump -> res. The order of everything else doesn't really matter, that much is true.

Second point is OP hasn't posted in here since, so I don't really see a reason to respond.

Well, the order of reservoir -> pump does matter. Unless you plan to somehow get the water through your entire system from the reservoir before it reaches the pump, and having the pump pump into the reservoir? It's not about more effective cooling here, it's about common sense =/
 
FWIW I have an RS360 and MCR120 with 2x 470's and 2600K and my temps peak at 70C cpu and 48C GPU under overclocked folding load. The surface area of your two RX series rads is greater than my thin units so you should be golden.
