I have some thoughts running through my head for my next computer case. Since my Lian-Li PC-6070 proved to be tight for my water cooling setup I think I'm going to get the Lian-Li v2100. I love the lower compartment separating the hard drives and power supply from the mobo. If I rip out the HD racks I can use that space for my rad and maybe my pump.

My question becomes how do I mount the dual 120mm rad? I'm thinking of having two intake fans coming in from the back side in the pic and mounting the rad on two 120mm fans sucking the air off the rad through the botom of the case. I would have two fan ducts connected from the side intake holes to the rad to provide direct air flow. Now would this be better than having the warm air come out the opposite side of the case through 2 more holes?

I can only seem to find fan ducts for 92mm fans and lower. If I can't get fan ducts for 120mm fans I was thinking of a converter. What kind of affect would a 120mm fan sucking air through a 92mm tunnel have?

Here's a mock pic. The two green circles would be 120mm or 92mm intake holes going to the rad in red at the bottom of the case. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/9853/v2100modded0wl.jpg

Hello? Anyone? Nobody knows what effects using a 120mm fan pulling through a 92mm tunnel will have?

Would I be better off having two 92mm fans connected to the side case pushing air through a fun duct onto my rad or having two 120mm fans at the other end of the tunnel connected to my rad sucking air down the tunnel.

Noise. Lots of noise. Anytime you have air moving into a smaller area from a larger intake (think of a venturi on a carbuerator) you have an increase in air velocity. If you have 2 120 mm fans pulling, they can keep the noise level down, and still move a ton of air.
As far as I have found, the best bet would be to have the air pulled instead of pushed...but thats just my .02

I this would cause me to have air moving from a smaller space into a larger space. My intake would be from 2 92mm holes in the side of my case with fans, either 2 92mm fans right at the side panel opening, or 2 120mm fans connected to the rad sucking air in from the outside.

Either way I'm going to use the 92mm fan duct because 2 120mm holes in the side of the case might be too big. It's going to be a matter of what gives me the best cooling and what produces the least amount of noise.

I think I'm going to take 2 120mm fans and mount it to the rad. The 2 fans will then be connected to 2 92mm fan ducts which attach to holes in the side of the case. I think the larger fans will suck in more air and be quieter than 2 92mm fans. There will also be 2 120mm fans mounted on the otherside of the rad pulling air off and out the case bottom.

What do you guys think?

I hope this case comes packed with some good sterofoam because I'm thinking of making a fan shroud out of it. After all, I'm going to need some way for the 92mm fan ducts to connect to 120mm fans.
