hey how much differnt are each of these two each other...

using a 2x120mm rad
using a 1x120mm rad
using a 2x80mm rad
i'm trying to figure out my rad and were the hell it's going in my mid-atx case (that i am going to get so far it's gonna be the centurion 5

well i don't want to cut a and place a grill up on the top of my case for the radiator and i really don't want to radbox it so it's outside the case either. so i thoght i'd think of other options for rad's but idk how great they are :-/ and i want to try to keep this system silent.
 
For most general purpose cooling a dual 80 rad will work just fine. People use more radiator than perhaps what they need for the same reason people buy cars that go 150 MPH even though they will never drive them faster than about 100 MPH. IOW, they are buying excess capacity for the day that they might need it. ;)
 
I am certainly not going to contradict TN, but will only try to add my humble opinion to his well considered thought...

It helped me to understand when somebody pointed out that a single 120mm rad provides more cooling area than a double 80mm rad.

120mm rad = 14400 square mm of cooling area

Dual 80mm rad = 12800 square mm of cooling area

Looking at that case, you could either put a 120 on the inside back below the PSU or go with a dual 80 in the HDD cage. I did the latter with my WaveMaster, but I was only cooling the CPU. I'm switching to an SLI setup that I'm going to water cool as well so I'm going to cut a hole in the top and use a dual 120 and sacrifice the upper two 5.25 bays.

As TN said tho, if you're only cooling a CPU, I can attest to the fact that a dual 80 will work just fine... In fact I'll be selling mine shortly ;)
 
Malikman it depends a lot on what components will be going into your watercooling loop. If you post up your systems specs and say which of the parts are going be going underwater then it'd be easier to say how much of an effect the different rad options would have.
