Curiosity question...

Ok, so there's a prefab shroud for thermochill rads, but I've yet to run across a Hardware Labs/Swifty doppelganger.

Although most folks make do with the available fan grillz ( AC Ryan, or Kikbox, etc), does anyone make an actual full rad shroud for either the BI, or Swifty MCR rads?

Most folks take either 25mm, or 38mm 120 fans, and cut out the actual motor to use the frame as a shroud. Has anyone actually moved beyond that DIY aspect, and made a pre-fab unit? (for 240, 360, and 480?)

I'm just surprised that with the extent of watercooling DIY, no one seems to have made an actual shroud for rads other than the Thermochills....

Feser is billing their new "Xtender" as a shroud, though it's essentially just a 120x120x31mm LED fan frame. They claim that the 31mm spacing gives the optimal performance increase (for their radiators anyway, of course).

Bitspower has their "RAD Support 1" that could become a shroud with some DIY work. The "1" at the end implies they might make "2" or "3" versions later, that would be more shroudlike.

But no, I've never seen any "full shrouds" for non-Thermochills, either. Which, yeah, is kinda odd, now that you mention it.

Yeah, I haven't seen too many shrouds. I built my own out of a plastic bin from Target. If you want to DIY you could definitely make something that'll work.

Yeah, I've tossed the DIY process around in my head a little. I was hoping there would be other options. :(

DIY is nice in the fact that you can use words/phrases like "custom", and "1-of-a-kind", but it sure would save a hell of a lot of time if there was something pre-fab on the market. ;)

Oh well, I've resigned to the fact that I can't find case feet for my BB Rocketfish that'll do what I want. I pretty much figured I'm going to have to "custom" make my own. Guess I'll need to add fan shrouds to the list as well.
