Radeon9000 Pro Help!

I have a Radeon9000 pro, I just recently formated my HD. I installed Quake 3, and my favorite mod for it which is Rocket Arena 3. I decided I wanted to OC my card 294.75/294.75 so I used Rage3D. Now while I am playing my screen freezes. I lowered the core etc to 290/284/and finally set it to default. I still keep freezing in game. So I uninstalled Rage3D hoping it would fix the problem. Nope! still a no go, anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Thanks :)
 
Format....but this is spoken from a format fanatic so yea... Specifically install WindowsXP, then install SP1 (I recommend SP1 and not SP1a b/c then u get to use the better m$ java instead of st00pid sun java), then mobo drivers, then vid. drivers.
