Radeon X1300 = Fried?

I have a GeCube Radeon X1300, and can't get any response out of it. It appears in the Device Manager as an Unknown Device. When running the Add New Hardware wizard Windows fails to detect the device. I can add the driver to the Unknown Appliance manually by selecting it from the list, but that leads to a device called a Radeon X1300 Series Secondary that won't start (the info panel says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"). It seems to me like the card is dead, but is there anything else I can try before having to go through the replacement product process?
 
If the card is dead, how are you getting anything on the monitor?
 
But how will I be able to reenable it if the PCI-e card turns out to be dead? I assume you mean disabling it in Control Panel>System?

No. You're supposed to disable on-board video in the BIOS before you install a video card. That's the reason it can't detect the device... your card isn't fried, you just didn't install it correctly.
 
But what if there is no option to turn off on board graphics in the BIOS?

there will be an option and if it hoses your video, you can reset the CMOS via a jumper on the motherboard :)

Or just take out the battery on your mobo, wait 10 minutes, then put it back in. That is, if you can't get anything to work after you turn off onboard graphics. And yes, there will be an option to do so. I haven't ever seen a motherboard with onboard graphics that didn't have that option.
