Radeon power connector question?

I'm installing my Radeon x850 XT and it has 2 power connectos, one has 2 rows and 2 columns and the other is 4 pins. I have a cable for the 2 rows and 2 columns connector but I don't have a connector that fits the flat power connector. Do both connectors need to be connected to something or is it an either/or option?
 
Read the instructions. There's only one power connector on the card.....
