is my card supposed to be under secondary? i thought secondary is only for TV display (my card doesn't use TV display, just a normal DVI blue cable connecting to my monitor). it appears my card is listed under secondary in ATi's control panel, but not under display properties > settings.

i was thinking once installing my display drivers for both devices (primary and secondary) it may cause some conflicts and some problems which i am experiencing.

thanks in advance.

Secondary is for TV display, but it's referred to as being on the video card itself. Don't ask me why.

i know it's on the video card, but should i be using it despite the fact my computer isn't even hooked up to the TV?

secondary simply refers to the dual display capability built into the card

typically it will have the blue VGA port (primary) and the white DVI port (secondary)

if this is an ati radeon 9600 xt, the same thing happened to me when i installed my new video card a few days ago

That's how its supposed to be...apparently with dual RAMDACs, both inputs report to windows giving you a primary and a secondary, though it doesn't matter which one you use. Same thing on my 9700pro
