Well topic says it all. Enjoy the pics :)

Radeon HD2600XT Pictures

ps. Must say the lack of external power connector (80W power usage) and beefy cooler looks good to me. Could this be another 1950pro for the masses, lets hope.

Edit:

Seems like the pictures are from HD2600Pro and not the XT variant. If you scroll down the site, there is a pic of HD2600XT also. Fake or not, you discuss :) Darn seems like these have been posted in another thread already, my bad.

I like :D.

Damn it,
I was [---] close to buying a pair of 8800GTS cards to run in SLI for my new rig, but the new HD2600XT looks so good on paper I don't know what to do.

I hope you are just joking because the 2600xt will be the 8600gts rival. :rolleyes:

does any body know the specs of the hd 2600xt and how will it compare to the 8600gts

I thought the OP stated that there's no external power connector for the 2600 pro.

I would hope atleast one model has an external power connector or I can't imagine one would be able to overclock these much.

They look cool though.

Well, these should be priced to compete with the 8600GTS (maybe just over $200 at the high end and closer to $150 for the pro?). Of course, I hope we'll see some price wars and better deals when these finally hit the shelves.

I'm hoping the XT performs a bit better than the 8600 for the same price, or I might just go with a 320MB 8800GTS for a few dollars more. I'm also hoping for some good H264/AVC and VC-1 HD video acceleration benchmarks. The last rumors were that we might start seeing some reviews in mid-May.

Nothing is plugged into 90% of the outlets in my home but they are still there. Who says it has to be plugged in to take a picture? C'mon it clearly looks like a power connector.

This is what you said "The power is clearly plugged into the 6-pin connector in the upper right of the card just beneath the cooler."

For the record, I was always talking about the HD 2600 PRO not needing external power.

Posted at B3D by CJ (one of the more reliable sources);

"HD 2600 XT -> 65W
HD 2600 PRO -> 55W
HD 2400 XT -> 20W
HD 2400 PRO -> 18W"

If this is the case than an R600 derivative at 65nm could be promising indeed. I think part of AMD's supposedly cheap pricing of R600 could be the fact that even ATI lovers might wanna hold out for the 65nm refresh.

Damn man, these midrange ATi products are looking nice. I feel almost shackled to nvidia though because of my SLI mobo. But if the price is low enough and the performance margin large enough then I'll definitely be picking up one of these x2600s. But we still have not yet seen how any of these cards will do in a realworld dx10 environment, so I'm holding out until at least then to make the dx10 plunge.

According to VRZone, the XT will not need an additional power connector.

Heh, VR-Zone is useless when it comes to ATI information. Remember the 32ps R520, one of only many examples. I think vr's contacts are more aligned to the NV side of things. CJ has an amazing reputation as a good early info source. But then again, who knows.

Where are you seeing specs?
