What card is better?
I pick the first one
 
5770 is definitely faster than the 9800GTX and for $150 its a bargain. Go with ATI.
 
What games and resolution do you plan on playing? The HD5770 is better of the two, but at the same time more expensive. Depending on the game, and resolution, there might be a reason to move in either direction.
