Not entirely sure this is the right forum, but here goes anyway.
Looking to get a Dell Studio 17 laptop with the Radeon HD 3650 graphics. I'm looking to use this as a HTPC that I can also take with me when I visit family. When I'm at home, I want to have this thing connected to my surround receiver via HDMI, and I just want to make sure that I can do SPDIF over HDMI to get full 5.1 audio out of DVDs.
I asked a couple of Dell reps, but sales reps are usually pretty clueless, and I must be entering the wrong search terms into Google every time I try. AMD's website has next to no info on this card, and even a quick search of these forums came up with nothing. So can anyone confirm that this video card can also do SPDIF like a digital coax or toslink cable?
