Radeon 9800PRO

That's low. What are your graphics settings?

I pulled 18.5k with the machine in the sig, without pushing for the max. I topped out at 21k.

i left them at defult, no AA. Ill try reinstalling the drivers, is that a good idea?

leaving it on default has V-synk on application preference so that could be a possiblity.

what should i do to make this higher? i have the latest drivers installed...

i havnt installed directx 9.0 yet, could that be a probelm? i havnt installed any directx at all

well i installed it and i still get the same score

Display Properties>Settings>Advanced>3D Set your sliders to the left for "optimal performance". Click apply twice and rerun the benchies.

uh. hmm.

If you hadn't installed DirectX, I'm guessing you didn't do the rest of the Windows updates. Do the critical ones.

Did you install your chipset drivers? Are you using the latest Cats?

The MOST IMPORTANT thing you should do is install your motherboard's AGP controller drivers. This should be done first and foremost, even before the Catalyst 4.3 drivers for your vid card.

To not do this is to cripple your system to suckage.

i installed the AGp drivers and chipset drivers and i have 19278!!!! thanks so much!!!

well I guess we have found an actual use for synthetic benchies now....it can tell you if your system is potentialy hosed or not :D

Well since we're talking 3DMark here, how are these scores for my Dragonslayer system (default tests, stock speeds):

3DMark2001SE: 16,163

3DMark03: 5,402

By the way, the video card is stock so far (I haven't attached the VGA Silencer yet). And, my MB is still running on desk for now and not in case yet.
