Hi,

I am currently running a Sapphire Radeon 9700 Pro with an Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer Rev3 and AS5. However I have never overclocked it and I have no idea what it is capable of. What program would you guys suggest I use for overclocking and what sort of core/mem speeds should I hope to achieve without risking damage to my video card? I am not looking to push it to the MAX, but I would like to get a little more power out of it till the coming gen of video cards drop in price a little (December2004-Jan2005 area).

Also I have seen many people mention flashing a video cards bios to a higher level cards bios, what advantages does this have and would this be something I should look into? Lastly should I purchase some ramsinks for my video card and if so where should I buy them? Well that ended up being alot more questions than I origionally planned on asking but I hope you guys can help me out. :p

Thanks,

Sejin :)

Use atitool, and if you want ramsinks, I just got a buttload from svc.com
I've used them before and they're legit and a good store.

Actually I cant order from svc.com since they dont accept paypal or different shipping address/billing address. I dont like paying obscene bullshit fees when stuff crosses the border into Canada so I just ship it to my aunts house that is just across the border about 20minute + border wait drive away. Any other good places that sell ramsink, preferly copper I suppose?

I have the bbATi Radeon 9700 Pro and I've the vantec iceburq4 cooler on it /w AS5. Words wonderfuly. I have tired a dozen programs and have found ATiTool to work the best. Just make sure you are using ATi's driver set not the Omega set as I've found bad results with the Omega driver set and the program ATiTool.

And you have no need to flash your card to anything else. That is for when you buy a non-pro card and you want to use the pro instruction sets. And it's very dangerus to the card.
