I'm working on getting a stable overclock with my Radeon 9700np AIW and hitting some problems. With ATI Tool any speeds over 293/290 are getting artifacts atleast 1 per 5 seconds. Stock is 277/270 and this overclock I achieved seems tiny. I've read that theres a flash thats needed, idk if thats for certain revisions only, or I could benifit from that.

**I am using AS5 with a Zalman Heatpipe with the optional fan (volted to run faster)**

Does anyone have suggestions or their own experiences with this card to possibly share?

I have 9800 Pro with VGA Silencer and can't get above 400mhz core (380mhz core default) without getting artifacing. I was expecting better, but I think the core can't handle much higher frequencies. I don't think temps are a problem. We may have ended up with speed binned parts that barely met the default speeds so we can't overclock much.

Well that may be the case, but UPDATE: I set my core to 330 despite the artifacts. Doom3 and CS:S Benchies ran without any visible artifacts, and the GPU temp from desktop only went up 2.5C. So idk maybe its a program glitch or what. Would artifacts in normal games be that hard to spot?

They shouldn't be.
