I keep having this problem when I start up an opengl game, I start and the screen turn's blue and sometimes says hardware fault

My setup
is a tyan thunder 100
Radeon 9700 Pro
400Watt Psu (Tried another one same problem)
Socket 1 P3

Used driver cleaner and reinstalled them who knows how many times same problem

PLEASE HELP!

Overclocking? Install any new hardware or change anything recently before this started occuring?

Not at all, I have the most up to date bios too

The cpu is overclocked but it was fine before i put the new card in

Edit: Put the cpu back to the stock clock speed same problem

This is only happening with OpenGL games? Have you tried updating your motherboards chipset drivers (intel inf for the 440BX I believe)? Sounds weird but try changing your AGP rate from 4x to 2x (or reverse it if its already 2x).

I have the 440GX Chipset i tried doing that already, It wouldnt let me up date the drivers it says there already upto date

Ill try the Agp Rating thing though

This seems to affect both types Direct X and Opengl

I reinstalled Direct X did the tests and it crashed. I really hope this card isn't bad it was from ebay :(

it actually runs for a few seconds sometimes before crashing

Alright tried the 1x and 2x settings

same thing happens. Fuck the video card is probably bad god damnit

Could be numerous things. Have you tested your memory? Your hardware is a bit dated so its possible something else is failing. Try down clocking your video card a bit and see if that helps, also try lowering your agp aperture.

The system ran fine with the older video card so i doubt its related to the system, Ill try memtest and some stuff along with the other things you suggested
