Radeon 9700 Pro frustration

Ok, so I just purchased a Powercolor 9700 Pro from Newegg.

I slapped the sucker in after uninstalling the previous Catalyst 3.9's for my Radeon 9500, then proceeded to install the Catalyst 4.1's after installing the new card.

I ran PCMark03 and only achieved a score of 3,750. This is NOT how it's supposed to be. I've played with some stuff, but I can't think of what else to do to optimize performance. I'm also running Rage3dTweak with a current core clock of 342 and memory speed of 342.

I'm just blatantly absent minded a lot of times, so run down all possible ideas on what to adjust...

I hate my thought process sometimes...I miss the most obvious things alot.

If I was you I would reinstall mobo agp drivers then instal DX9.b and then install the cats again and all SHOULD be well.

BTW is that the max overclock on ur 9700pro? I have mine @ 385/360.

Check the SMARTGART Tab, and make sure you are at 4x/8x AGP (if it says disabled, your motherboard/AGP drivers are not properly installed).

Also, be sure that you have Smoothvision and Ansiotropic Filtering set to "application preference" and set all the other tabs down to "performance".

...just some suggestions.
