Hi,
I want to know what is a better card, and what I should buy.
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 128MB(FireBlade Edition)
or
Albatron GeForce FX 5900XT 128MB
Thanks,
Asaf.

well the 9600XT has free Hl2, BLHAAAAAAAAA nevermind that was jsut a trick to make people buy the cards, then game aint commin out for ever!

5900XT owns it, go 5900XT

EDIT: now that i think baout it my RMAed BFG5900nu (2.2ns will do 500/950 atleast) should be comming back soon, Make an offer...

the 5900XT smokes the 9600xt only drawback is an extra 30-40 bucks :)

awww now i wouldnt say it smokes the 9600xt. Plus the 9600xt has far better 2d quality:p. But i would swap my 9600xt for a 5900xt if i got a chance

ATI has pulled the HL2 coupon from all 9600XT's havn't they?

I've got the Gigabyte 5900XT, and overclocked it will smoke most of the ATi offerings. I'm getting ready to overclock mine now and i'll see how it performs vs. a 9800 pro. Considering several people have been getting their core speed to and faster than 5950 core speeds i would say it fares pretty well.

from experence, it wont be pretty, my 9800pro dose better in game than my old BFG 5900nu (2.2ns 610/1000 baby!) But it still dosnt hold par with my 9800pro stock clocks...

What type of cooling do you have? Because a high OC with poor cooling can actually result in a relative decrease in performance.

If the 5900XT is 40 bucks more than a 9600XT (about 200 bucks) then why not go for a 9800Pro for 210 bucks?

I think its only 170...

But yea, a 9800pro 128 for $200 will own both cards.

5900XT owns the 9600xt.... different class of cards.

graphics cards are going to get really cheap really quickly...

with the 6800 & X800 coming out in the next 2-3 weeks, plus nvidia is unloading something like $80 million chips in inventory for 10-20% off http://www.digitimes.com/NewsShow/Article.asp?datePublish=2004/04/16&pages=A1&seq=1

So I imagine the market is about to get flooded with FX and maybe some GF4 cards, plus whats already on there... plus the next generation which is leaps & bounds better is about to hit...
all ot that together makes me think there will be firehouse sale prices on FX & GF4 & probably ATI 9xxx in the next month.

If it's strictly between the 9600XT and the 5900XT then go for the 5900XT.

The 9800Pro is the better choice out of the whole lot though in that price range.

you can get a 9600xt for about 20 dollars less than a 5900xt which is 20 dollars less than a 9800pro so it depends on what your budget is. I would personally go with the 9800pro as i have the AIW variant of it and it screams in games considering the price it is.

See my sig,,,,you decide,,,show me a 9600XT that can even come near those scores!!!
