"After successful installation, the card was working for like 24 hours, but after a shutdown for the night, the computer did not boot back up in the morning. (I was able to successfully reboot a number of times the previous day with the card) I tried a bunch of older and newer chipset drivers, but still nothing. When I turn on the computer, the cd drive gets scanned for a bootdisk, and then there's no HD activity. The monitor gets no signal, the computer just idles there. I think I can am able to hear a slight burst of a buzz at the point the monitor usually gets a signal (very very soft), but no other beeps aside from that.
(Previous problems that day: manually turning off the PC with the power button due to a freeze, gave me almost the exact same symptom, but after replugging in the VGA cord a number of times it finally worked. This time, it didn't work no matter how many times I did it, or how many times I took out the card and put it back in)
The monitor gets a signal with the card out, and everything boots fine, so I know the monitor and motherboard works fine. (the onboard video turns on auto without an AGP card, and I am 100% sure it is disabled with the AGP card in, after hooking a cable to it while the AGP card was still in)
Still the same even without any other cards in (PCI)"
AMD AthlonXP 2000+
ECS L7VMM (KM266 chipset) 4x(1.5v) AGP Max [Bios v1.06, newest only adds support for new CPUs)
250watt PS
80GB HD
512MB DDR2100
Update: (downgraded to Via 4-in-1 4.43) I upgraded to an Antec SL350, I RMAed the card (ATI reports it as defective), and I got a new one. However, it's still not working!
One difference though, if the unused PCI modem card is in (only one PCI card used), the system can boot with the Radeon card in, but still no video from either the Radeon or the onboard (plugged the monitor into each on separate boots). Anyone have any clues what I can do? I guess windows booting is a change...
