Hey I had a quick question with my Radeon 9500 Non-Pro. I have succesfully softmodded this to a Radeon 9700 Non-Pro and quickly overclocked to Pro speeds. I was wondering if there was way to flash this card or change some type of setting so that it shows up as a Radeon 9700 PRO under the device manager?

Thanks in advance -- LeaRn2live

why would you want to? as long as it performs like a 9700Pro it should be fine. just leave it as it is, its not like its killing you to have a 9700Pro.

what does it show up as anyway,

ATi Radeon 9700 Series? becuase if it does, it wont show up as a pro unless I am mistaken. because my 9600Pro only showed up as Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9600 Series. I dont think it will ever show up as the exact card, but as I said, I could be wrong

Haha I know it seems kind of dumb that I want it to show up as a Radeon 9700 Pro but when my friends come over for little mini lan tournaments and check out my comp the first thing they look for is the graphics card. Once they saw something like a Radeon 9500 non-Pro they would probably be squealing "Wow my nVidia FX5200 is way better than your card!" just because that is how ignorant they are. After a while it does become quite a bit annoying because they don't understand benchmarks and what not. Now...if I could get to show up as a Radeon 9700 pro I would be a god among men. :)
