Radeon 9200

I've selected the ATI Radeon 9200 as the video card for my new system. I'm not a gamer and all I want is a card that will produce sharp, crisp text and images for office applications, digital photography and a little digital video editing. Is that card a good choice? Can you recommend something better that will fit those needs. Many thanks.

That is a pretty good choice but for digital photography and and video editing get a 256mb version p.s. I would go with a nvidia 5200 they seem to be bit better and support DX9 the 9200 doesn't

The ECS 9200 -128vivo at NewEgg is only $52. Use it till you save up for a 9800pro.

Getting the extra memory (256mb) wouldn't do anything for 2D desktop work, the 128MB 9200 is perfectly adequate.

I recently put one of those cards in a box I sold for cheap. For 2d that card was great no problems whatsoever. Plus no fan means no noise from the card. For 3d the card is a total turd It felt slower then a gf2mx to me.

I agree. System RAM makes a huge difference, vid card RAM, as long as you can hit the resolution you need, which my old ATI Rage128 32meg card could hit 1600x1200, I'm fairly sure it 2048 x 15xx was possible.
