Radeon 290 HDMI Out Audio Issues

So I have two Radeon 290 Tri-X OC vid cards and it appears that when I run an hdmi connection from either card to my TV (through a HDMI splitter box) the TV (as a sound device) doesn't appear until I pull the cable out, replug it in the back of the card, and reboot the computer. Without going through that process, it shows as a "Not plugged in" disconnected device. I've disabled the onboard sound card. I also suffer from that really long lag/delay when you right click on sound devices (it literally takes 2-3 minutes for the window to pop up). Running Win 7.

Same rig never use to have issues w/ my Nvidia 670 SLI.
 
Have you tried starting your computer after turning on your TV ?
 
HDMI in genial is crap for the copy protection and handshaking that needs to happen for devices to play together. Get a new HDMI switch or receiver or TiVo and things always seems to change. Every manufacture seems to do whatever the hell they want. When you try to get help from the manufacture it is always your cables or the other guy’s device. Anyway…

For the delay opening audio settings. It’s yet another AMD bug that they refuse to fix, been around for years and they know about it but apparently it’s your fault for giving them money. If you go into device manager you should see an AMD High Definition Audio device for each card, you need to dis able the unused ones and reboot. Just another FU from AMD to the folks that pay for and try to use Crossfire. Good luck finding a game that works like it should.

For the TV not showing up, there was a group that made some kind of AMD driver patch that would keep the HDMI device connected. Something to do with the poor/improper AMD HDMI handshaking. The device like a TV may only send the “Hi I’m a TV with these setting.” message once when turned on and then the other devices may forget it or be in some mode were they ignore it. Some HDMI splitter boxes do or don’t keep or send this info along for you. So you end up turning stuff on and off in just the right order to get stuff to play. You can try other cables or splitters but over the years I’ve been lucky enough to find an order to turning stuff on so I don’t have to dis/reconnect the HDMI cable.
 
Tell CCC to use both your display and the sound output device as cloned desktops.
If the sounds "HDMI display" isnt enabled, its sound output wont be.

If that doesnt work, try setting the display that you want the sound to go to as the primary display.
You arent using it for an actual display, but you can still set it as the primary in CCC once it is already cloned.
