Rad leak? (not from barbs)

Doing leak testing round 2 for my new WC setup. In round 1 I noticed the radiator had a slow leak, I couldn't pinpoint it, but I assumed it was from one of the barbs.

I've since redone all the fittings, and everything appears to be rock solid, except for the stupid rad. I have it standing with the barbs up, and its dripping from the bottom.

Is it possible I punctured something while screwing fans in?

Note: I have a torture rack, and my loop is setup so that the only thing that could cause any damage if it leaked is the WB. The res, rad, and pump are all on the outside of the case.

I'm sure a small number of radiators come off the line with a defect that is not caught. I wouldn't think you would have caused it. I would RMA that radiator and get a replacement.

Well ... so the 1st thing to do is to actually pinpoint the the leak.Maybe you can lay the radiator out horizontal & put a paper towel underneath to at least localize the leak.

Why do you think it is a barb?

Are the fittings torqued enough? Did you use anything to tighten the hose over the barbs such as Tye wraps or hose clamps? (I used colored Tye wraps myself) Did you use teflon tape on the threads?

No tape, hard hand tighten. The reason I say its not the barbs is because the barbs are in full view above the case, and I can't see any signs of water around the barbs.

I just wanted to see if anyone has ever experienced some sort of puncture before I laboriously take the rad off the side of the case.

On the bright side, idle temps dropped 8-10C, and load temps dropped a little more than that. The prospect of RMAing this thing makes me sad. On the bright side I'd try and exchange for the XSPC 480 (I have the XSPC 360 currently) as they're the same price for some reason.
