Rackmount vs. regular case (power switch)

most of those switches look like toggles but they automaticly switch back, kinda like a reset button, it just depends on the case. I haven't use that case before but all of my other server cases are the same. works just like a regular powerswitch.
 
have fun with the rack mount... i wish i had one for my audio rig but i just cant afford the cost right now
 
I've got several of that exact case and I can confirm that the power switch is momentary like a "normal" PC case would have and works fine with standard ATX mobos.

The project is going to be a NAS server, probably running Openfiler. Not much going into it, just all my spare parts. An old slot1 P3 733, 512 megs, 160 gigs of HD's. Seems like a waste of a good case but hey it was only $78.50. Was going to put in some hotswap bays but ran low on the cash, seems like it would solve all the problems with that oddly mounted HD rack they got in there. Maybe next year. If the case lives up to what I hear about it a second will be bought for my homebuilt smoothwall router.

I still feel I should have gotten the Codegen http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811182566 but we will see. At the time it was $1.50 more than I wanted to spend, lol.
 
Thanks for posting those links... I've been looking for a desktop-cased file server / HTPC solution on the relatively cheap (was aiming for $50), but most of the ones I found had shit room for HDDs (maybe 1 or 2 3.5" internal bays). I thought 4u would be great, but didn't know the cases could be had for so cheap, new. This is absolutely perfect. <3 <3
