Racing Games

Monster Truck Madness FTW,
LOL just kidding. :D

For me the best of all time is GT3.
GT4 was alittle to late to the market and a big let down.
The shitty graphics and jaggies just killed it for me.
What I was seeing on the PC at that time just made the game unplayable.
Yes it is true, I am an eye-candy whore.

I had alot of fun with NFS:3 and Hot Pursuit back in the Day.
The family would get toghter on friday nights at the ole' man's house and racing 6-way racing on the lan.
That was great fun.

ReVolt
MarioKart64
Vigilante 8 on the 64 (not really racing but fun as hell)
Rallysport Challenge 2
Burnout 1 and 2 (3 and beyond sucked)

I enjoy racing games a bunch. So..here is my list that is constantly revised:

1) Flatout 2
2) Burnout Revenge (360)
3) Toca Race Driver 3
4) Rallisport Challenge (1 for PC and 2 for XBOX)
5) GTR2
6) Richard Burns Rally (whatever...just play it..it's great :D)
7) Re-Volt (great fun at LANs)
8) Need For Speed Underground (played online alot more than I should have)
9) EDIT: I thought of something for number 9: Motor City Online
10) Trackmania

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 1 & 2
GT2, GT3
Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero
and finally
Forza

Actually Big Red Racing was one of the coolest racing games ever....if anyone remembers.

Yesss. Big Red Racing was fun!

NFS Most Wanted and Underground (both) were great games. The carnage when you smash your way through the barricades in MW is great. Cars flying everywhere... weee! Add in the customization options and you have a great game. My only problem with the Underground games is that you sometimes need to learn the tracks. Because they take place at night, it can be hard to see where you're going.
Burnout 3 and Revenge are awesome games too. Not many racing games let you drive your opponents into a support beam AND reward you for it too. :D

Another racing series I really enjoyed was the Extreme G Racing games on the Nintendo 64. THOSE games were really good.

the one that that sucked in NFS Underground and continues to suck in Most Wanted and Carbon is the online play. Other cars jerk around and sometimes appear in front of you all of a sudden. Especially in NFS Underground 1 someone in front of you would appear to crash or stop suddenly and you would crash into them and it would stop you dead..then they would drive off because they did not in fact crash. This problem continues...at least you can turn off collisions now...still it's quite distracting watching cars upside down or jerking around... :p

I really enjoy the MotoGP series as well as GTR2. Would love to get back to the Gran Turismo days now that I've finally got a big tv, but apparently that's going to be another year?!

We've got to wait until 2008 for the next real Gran Turismo installment :(

I'm a humongous GT fan and I'm not shelling out for incomplete/hold-over products like Gran Turismo HD and/or any prologues.

RR7 is better than I expected. But I'm a long time fan going back to the original arcade game.

Def would like to play that. But I'm not sure if I wanna PS3...

I agree with many of the games already listed here, I have enjoyed many of them. One I didnt see mentioned was Ballistics. One of the first games I played when I got my GeForce 3 and enjoyed pixel shaders. It was like ExtremeG in fast-forward...couldnt even see to avoid the obstacles half the time.

Rollcage was another oldie-but-goodie

1. Gran Turismo 4
2. TOCA 3
3. Rallisport Challenge 2
4. GTR2
5. Forza Motosport

QFT!! Good times that game. Didn't have the flow of Wipeout XL tho.
