Racing Game Recommendations

Trackmania.

I have never laughed so hard playing a racing game in my life. We did it at a LAN once and it was hilarious.

If anyone wants this particular game, I have a code for it for PC, no charge. I have zero interest in racing games myself.

SHift and SHift 2 are amazing on the big screen and they both support 360 controler

I'm not a fan of sim racers. I'd rather have fun drifting around a corner at 150mph into a wall ;)

Sims are like RPG games, they take too much time to finesse. This ultimately takes more time than I have in a day.

And I'm sorry but Grand Turismo will never be a good game to me nor any other that makes my car a paperweight but others are immovable objects. I like to have fun with other racers.

I HATE games that make me play a track 3 imes to shave 1.5 seconds off my time to progress. HATE HATE HATE. I'll play a level only a couple times at most and then I'm done. I have a family and a life outside of computer games and I'm aiming to have some fun and blow off some steam in computer games --- not go to a second job and perfect a simulation experience. I never liked sims, but I'm finding I'm liking simpler controlling pick up and play games more as I get older and acquire more life responsibilities/loose free time.

This has me wondering why most developers lean towards the arcadey type of racing game as opposed to simulation. Is it to appease the the teeny boppers who can't drive yet?

I also have a hobby of modding cars and go to the race tracks on occassion with the cars I mod.

I wouldn't crash my project 1990 corvette with a 383 into the guard rail or competing car intentionally, but it sure is fun to do it in a game like Blur, Carmageddon, Megarace, Whiplash, NFS etc. The arcadey racing games are the most "FUN" to play for me, and that's the reason I play games --- for fun.

I like both types too but I find simulation games more immersive. I guess it's a matter of personal preference.
