R9200 DVI output problem

I have Club 3D Radeon 9200 128 MB installed in my secondary SFF PC setup (AOpen XC Cube EZ65) and the card is hooked to Dell 2000 FP flat panel (native resolution 1600x1200) display via DVI. I'm currently using Catalyst 4.2 drivers.

Everything works fine when resolution is set to 1280x1024 or lower, but 1600x1200 produces garbled screen (image here). Using alternate DVI operational mode cuts the signal totally and reduce frequency option makes small dots like snow all over the screen (image here).

Also, there is no image until Windows has booted. I do not have stability or reboot problems. Analog connection works fine. Radeon 9800 Pro DVI output works fine with this panel and tested cables.

This is what I have tried so far:

- tested alternate DVI operational mode and reduce frequency option combinations
- tested with two different DVI cables
- tested with different combinations of displays connected to R9200 outputs
- lowered AGP speed to 4x (MB minimum) and disabled fastwrites
- tried all Catalyst versions from 3.7 to 4.2

Is 1600x1200 resolution possible using R9200 DVI output?

Any help is appreciated.

Can anyone please confirm whether R9200 can or can't do 1600x1200@60 Hz properly via DVI connection? Thanks.
