Hello everyone,

MY brother just recently purchased a PC from ibuypower.

He just received it the other day and says the video seems corrupted or artifacty.

We have uninstalled drivers and currently have the most up to date (Omega (14.12) installed.

Here is a low quality video displaying the artifacts/corruption.

Anyone experience this before??

My thoughts are

#1 - Faulty video card
#2 - Video card not fully seated in AGP
#3 - Cross component errors

What do you guys think?? Thanks for the help in advance.
 
not sure why you said agp but i got the point...looks clearly like a driver issue....uninstall the driver...clean with ddu...reinstall omega driver and see where its at from there (maybe they botched the driver install?stranger things have happned)
if that doesn't help try downclocking the gpu/memory clocks and if that fixes it then you have your answer....keep an eye on the temps but i doubt its the issue
 
Looks like a bad card. When I encounter problems like artifacts on the Windows Desktop, it is almost always a hardware issue.
 
It may also be the garbage psu ibuypower machines come with. The 290x is a power hungry monster that shouldn't be powered with a generic "Super PerFOrmAnc3 Hon0R 800w very much WOW" psu.

power hungry card when running a 3d application

I'd just return the PC to IBP stating you're getting weird artifacts in Windows Desktop

When I first installed the 14.12 drivers it did the same stupid shit, I reinstalled windows and everything else and its been fine....That shit broke so many things it was annoying, especially getting back to 96hz....
