r9 290 DD cooler

I tried looking around for information but basically I'm trying to figure out if a r9 290 DD cooler would fit a reference r9 290 card. Are the pcbs the same size?

EK says the XFX DD cards use a reference PCB so yes it should fit. I say should because XFX has in the past changed components and PCBs without notice.

Cool yea by selecting the XFX reference card or the DD edition it lists the same Waterblocks for them, thats a good sign.

I am wondering the same thing? Unless its off of a later revision card where they have better VRM cooling, I wouldn't use that cooler if someone gave it to me.

Personally I think the DD cooler (the newest one) looks AMAZING inside a windowed case. It's also a decent enough performer. Not the best, but if you aren't OCing it will keep the card throttle-free.

Because the reference cooler can at least stop the VRM temps going through the roof.

Looking on google it doesn't appear you have to do much to fix that issue
