Just out of chance I went to NewEgg and seached for the 280X and the MSI came up in stock @ $299.99.

Maybe NE isn't trying to gouge and since the price was at MSRP when it was back in stock. I picked up the card and it is now OOS once again.

The prices wont go up on that site. Any second hand cards will have a spike in prices though due to demand

At Newegg:

290 was ~$399 now $499.
290x was ~$549 now $599.

7970 Lightning was ~$369 now it is $499.
Most 280x were ~$280-$329 now +$379.

Ummm yes they have. Last time I looked the bumped some of their 280x cards up by 40-50 ea.

Good luck on getting your card though OP. Hopefully you don't need it very soon. Ordered mine last Wednesday and it hasn't shipped yet due to weather. . .

Someone doesn't know newegg or the concept of supply and demand... They have already started selling AMD cards upwards of $100 more than msrp.
