ATI has informed its clients in Taiwan that it will gradually begin volume shipments of its R-series GPUs, including the R520, RV530, RV515 and RV505 by the end of the third quarter. R-series GPUs are fabricated at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), using a 90nm processing technology, according to the sources.

every year has 4 quarters.

quarter 1: Jan-Feb-Mar
quarter 2: Apr-May-Jun
quarter 3: Jul-Aug-Sep
quarter 4: Oct-Nov-Dec

U see the Persian Calender is the most universal calender and exact calender u can find...
The first day of the new year (Noruz) is the first day of spring....

so when they say 3rd quarter they could be refering to the season, meaning autumn...
so when they say end of 3rd quater, they could mean end of autumn... being around mid november! :)

Unless you want to wait around another 6 weeks+, I'd just buy the 7800GT.
 
hey, give the Iranian (if he is one) a break. At least hes somewhat in support of freedom like the USA. Hes against the Islamic ruled government in Iran. He seems tow ant a purely democratic freedom of religion and fair rights type government, which is what most of the civilized world wants. I'll give him some props, and I'm a conservitive.

I'm still holding out on buying.. I have a gf2gts and I was holding out for the gf3 and then the gf4, then the radeon 9700pro and then the 9800xt, but I decided to wait for the gf 8 series before I buy because I don't want to lose precious minutes of my card being worth what I bought it for.

HAHA. Buy your card and stfu :D

We are reaching the end of silicon though. People will want/need more power eventually.
