If it's accurate, it looks like ATi plans to further confuse the market with a flood of different SKU's.
 
In their conference call the other day they mentioned that they would have a whole new round of 90nm chips come september...since R520 got pushed back, they'll probably all come out at the same time...
 
I assume the GL's aren't for mainstream use. But that still leaves about 8-9 different chips. It will be interesting to see how the marketing shapes up.
 
at this point I dont care....im tired of hearing rumors. When I see the things on newegg then i'll care
 
I'm believing the September rumor because it's highly reminiscent of last year. I wanted a x800xtpe in June but didn't get it till September. Even then it was luck snagging one.

If they have lots of parts (including r520) on the street and on the shelves come September, I'll forgive them.

Well, maybe at least this gives confirmation that they're sticking with the Pro/XT/XT PE naming system.
 
how does one go about adding support for new video hardware? is this leak indicative that there are enough R520 boards produced to be circulated amongst software devs under NDA, and that ATI might have delayed what would have been a paper launch in favor of a launch upon availability? these are just questions as i have no understanding of software development and how it relates to new hardware. no flames plz =(
