R420/423 chips

highly doubt it. You wont see 512 for another year or so most likely.. probably on an update of the r420 core.. think of r420 like the 9700. ATi will probably just keep pushin the clocks for awhile.. and eventually hit 512 on the super high end. Dont really know where GDDR3 is either.. but its not that close.

But I need 512 so I can get 400fps in Quake3TeamArena.

Extra video card memory will only have a dramatic affect on performance if the software was designed to use that said memory.

The rumoured specs say that it is going to use GDDR3, but it's all rumour right now. I don't think that we will see a 512MB card yet though, it would just make the card cost too much.

i think 512 is way overkill at this point, way way overkill

give it a year

 Watch your mouth, boy! There is no such thing as overkill here!

But, when they do come out, I look forward to your review saying that they are overkill for 99% of the people! :D

more ram won't effect aniso performance

but aa does benefit

I guess it makes sense if you think about it, aa renders the scene more times hence the more mem but aniso , well what does it do?

Ansio just does more texture lookups per pixel drawn for more accurate texture filtering.
