QX9650 potential problem on 790i!

Hi guys

Caved in today and bought a qx9650 since I can't wait for surface mail for my qx9770 ES to come.
Nonetheless I have a few questions since this is the c0 stepping. Is it true that the c1 stepping has better thermal control? I've seen tonnes of SS's where people have hit 4.0ghz no sweat but have nearly 10-15 degrees difference from the first and fourth core in temperature.
Allegedly the C1 stepping is what the budget penryn quad line is using too, should I just wait the 1-2 weeks for the 9650 to get the c1 stepping?

The 9770 retail will be how much? The reason I am impatient is because surface mail takes 4-6 weeks from last week and I don't got that kind of time (my 790i and 4gb ddr3 will rot). I think it's going to be 300-400 more and if that isthe case I"m going to just keep this

opinions are appreciated.


I think I may just return this SLAN3 and get another one, I'm not too comfortable with that weird crease I saw on the proc.

This is looking to be pretty fucking bad, I think I'm gonna need the XFX edition of the 790i :( and a new Quad as insurance.
