QX6850 idle temp?

My QX6850 using stock heatsink fan(default setting), the idle temp. is 50 C, is it normal?
I've read many review said should be around 30 C.

If it is not normal, could it be the MB problem or the CPU?

I dont think so. it should be 30-40C
The problem mostly is the t paste you applied too much? make sure it is a super thin layer.
 
It's a brand new one so I'm using the thin gray on the heatsink. (original intel)
Tried to re-seat it with the gray color paste come with the intel MB.

Load temp is 60 C+
 
I had a QX6800 a while ago and that thing was a furnace....it would load at about 70 with watercooling...:eek::eek:
If your load temps are at 60 and don't really go any higher, you will be fine...a better cooler might give you better results, but your temps are within spec..not by much, but they are within spec.

Thats a 130watt CPU and its gonna put out some heat..
 
my cores at 3.7GHz are around 45º-50º idle and around 80ºC using prime95. you should also check your vCore.

Do you mind tell me what should I check for vCore?
Coz I don't know about it and I don't overclock, just leave everything as bio default.:(

It does got to 80 C more in 100% load test.

Actually I bug me is over 50 C, the CPU fan will jump to 2300+rpm which is quite noisy
45 C at 1500+rpm.
If I manaul set in bio like 35% = 1500rpm, I won't adjust/change even temp got to 80 C +
The smart control cannot set more than 50 C in low speed.
Is there anyway I can lower the speed but auto spin still work:confused:

My friend has the same chip and his system would overheat with the stock cooler + AS5. It was in a airy Antec 300 too.

We got a Xigmatek S1283 and temps don't even go higher then 50C load. On stock cooler it would go in 70's load. I think part of it is that the stock cooler does not make proper contact with those POS pushpins.
 
RMAed the second one:
idle 60C
Load 80C

RMAed again:
idle 68C
Load 95C

How could that possible??? just getting worse and worse.

and this is the CPU i almost upgraded to instead of my core i7.... couldnt force myself to do it...
 
I also have mine at 3.7 and idles 45-52, when playing games it doesnt break past 65. Never crashes, also on air too.
