qx6700 what multiplier

i just got a qx6700 and im running a asus maxmus motherboard with 2x2 sticks for corsair dominator memory. my heatsink isnt that great at the moment so i oc'd my set up to 2933mhz with the following:

multiplier x7
cpu fsb 420

now i had to mess with alot of settings in my bios.
then today i was reading a fourm on my motherboard and i read someone with a q6700 got the advice to "375 x 8... leave everything else on auto. 3GHz shouldn't be a problem at all"

so my question is with my chip being a qx chip what mutiplier am i best off running?

at this moment i want to stay at 3ghz, but i just ordered a thermalright ultra-120 so im sure my temps will drop so i will be able to oc more in a week or so. so what mutiplier am i best off running in a week? it seems most people try 450 x 8 to start out with, but then again most set ups i see are only quad chips, not qx chips, so do i really gain any benifits from my chip being a qx?
 
you have an unlocked multiplyer why would you go for such a high fsb?

try somingthing like 333x9 or 300x10
 
I would go for the highest FSB you can get.....I had the same chip at 7 X500... that's where the performance is.
as long as your memory can do it...go for it... that's a great board fr high FSB speeds.
 
now that's what im asking really. what benefit do i get running a higher multiplier? it seems everyone's profile i see i with a 8 multiplier. but then again they are not qx chips. i have never had the benefit of having a unlocked chip so this is totally new to me. my ram SHOULD take the overclocking, but then again, who knows. i have it running at 1120 instead of 1066 right now. as i said in a week or so when i get the new cooler i really want to know what mutiplier i should work with to get the best overclock.
 
There was a guy that did alot of testing at xtreme forums that showed that higher fsb does not mean way better performance.

Unlocked multiplyers are nice because your not limited to just fsb overclocking.
sometimes cpus have fsb walls. Like my p4 wont go any higher then 320 fsb even @ 1.75v-core
