QX6700 Default Voltage

Please excuse the noob question but I've had a hunt around and I am unable to find much information on this. I thought I would turn it over to you guys:

What is the default recommended voltage for the QX6700? I can't find any information on Intel's website and I've only found one website that has said the default voltage for one of these chips is 1.35V.

My Striker seems to love giving the CPU a voltage of only 1.28V (..that was measured in PcProbe which usually amounts to a setting of 1.30V in BIOS) when I have it set on AUTO..

Any help is greatly appreciated.. :cool:
 
what are you trying to do? even quads have multiple vid.

use latest version of coretemp to find what your vid is.
 
I haven't really overclocked my computer too much yet and I am about to start. I just wanted to see how much I could push my Voltage if I needed to without going over my default.

CoreTemp tells me my VID is 1.3500V. Thanks... I didn't even think of that, even though I see that program almost every day.
 
From what ive seen, qx6700s seem to be doing atleast 3.2 on default vcore. I'm not sure what your target is but just remeber to keep an eye on your temps. If they allow a bump in vcore then why not.
 
Yeah, well 3.2Ghz is sort of my aim to be honest. I don't want to go too crazy with this simply because I actually do want this chip to last a while. I just wanted to pump out that extra bit of juice without putting too much or any strain on the chip. I'll definitely benefit from the increased clock speed in my sound and video editing..

At the moment, I can run the stock 2.66Ghz at around 1.31V instead of the 1.35V VID. Its got a bit of headroom left in it yet. :)
