ok so i posted about this problem before so dont jump on me about it....after playing any game on my computer (call of duty, warcraft 3, counter-strike, etc) upon exiting, the game starts to close and the desktop begins to appear, then the computer restarts...it never finishes closing the game....i know this because if i try to open call of duty a window appears telling me that it did not close properly and it recommends loading the game in safe mode...everything runs just fine, but when i exit i get a reboot

now i tried doing everything, reinstalling drivers, testing for bad parts, reinstalling games, tweaking, etc...but nothing seemed to work....i thought formatting would do the trick, so i format, update windows, install drivers, install games, same problem...i dont know why this happens and its starting to piss me off

i need to figure this out soon because i go back to school in 2 days and this is my brothers computer and id like to get it working

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

is there any setting somewhere in the bios, or for hardware to cause such a thing...it seems stupid to have a auto-reboot feature, but maybe just maybe

system specs are (i think): epox mobo (dont remember name), amd i think 2000+, i think 256mb of OCZ ram, gf3 ti500...all updated drivers

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!11one

Did you do the obvious thing and disable the automatic reboot option?

I'm assuming the PC is running XP, but can't be sure because you didn't give us that info, which is very important.

my bad  ...yea i am running xp...autoreboot u say?

i have xp on several computers and never had this happen, so i guess its set to watever the default setting is...where can i disable said autoreboot?

system -> advanced -> recovery/startup -> disable automatic restart

Instead of the comp rebooting, u should get a blue screen telling the error.

Sounds like a video card or memory issue to me...

this is not as odd a problem as you would think.

Honestly, back the system up (important data) and re-install windows. Could also be something not-so-nice like a virus or spyware screwing things up.

That would be my solution to the problem.

Yes Yes, Update your definitions and do a Virus Check, grab Adaware and check for spyware and adware...Also next time it stops, jot down the error and let us know...

BTW, on that Ti, the problem could be the Latest driver, I've had problems with the latest drivers on my GeForce, I usually use Driver 45.33, and everything works, I've had problems with games quiting on me, textures not loading, etc etc...I did a rollback to 45.33 and everything worked, I know NVidia has been screwy lately on the drivers, so it's worth a try...

Um...Try turning AGP Fastwrite off in the Bios, if all the above doesn't work...Check your MB for any problems of that nature and check the NVidia support for any problems of that nature...

If you jotted down the error, search google and let us know what the error is...

i doubt its spyware, adware, or a virus cuz i just formatted yesterday...im going to find the drivers u mentioned and if that doesnt work ill try agp fastwrite...i have the frozen screen up right now, so im gonna find out what that means and post again

HUZZAH!!!!!!....i tracked the offending driver to my onboard sound drivers...updating now...lets hope this does the trick
