Quietest P4 cooler?

I'm not overclocking my P4 3.02GHz, but i want to keep it cool and keep the noise down.

I'm using an older Coolermaster Case (ATCS 200 model w/Exhaust hole on the top; currently blocked off for noise reduction) and the stock Intel HS/Fan combo. Is there anything quieter than this that either cools better or around the same?

For quiet, you can't get anything better than the Zalman 7000, either the pure copper or alcu version.

From what have read, the Zalman is only a few DB quieter than stock, not sure just how much of an impact that's going to have overall.

In 'quiet' mode (as in idle) the Fan is quiet, but as soon as the temps rise it gets a bit loud.

I'm tempted to either pick up a new case or soundproof my current one (cheaper) with foam type materials (quietpc.com). Anyone use this stuff?

Before I went to water cooling I had a Zalman 7000-Alcu. Great aircooling performance, looks great and it was VERY quiet (even on the max setting).

the quietest cooling solution is a thermalright sp-94 and a 92mm vantec tornado

muahahahHAAHHAHAAHHAAHAHHA *cough* /me slinks back to cave

I believe the ThermalRight (not ThermalTake!) SLK-(94?) can operate stock temps with no fan at all. I'm sure some people will come in here and help clear it up. As I'm not 100% sure.

i wouldnt trust it without a fan but why not just do a sp-94 with a VERY VERY quiet fan? atleast push some air while your at it ;)

Just checked. It is the SP-94 which has the heatpipe technology.

On the reviews I checked, it got about 25C (non load) 47C load on a 2400 overclocked to 2800. Not that bad without a fan. That was mounted vertically.

i can tell you, the sp-94 is freaking incredible with a 92mm tornado. with a fan controller, you can turn the fans rpms down to about 2600 (roughly 54%) and its very bearable. best air cooling performance imo.
