Quietest 40mm Fan?

I'm sorry to make another thread but I feel this is appropriate. I opened up my external hdd and got the fan out.

The current fan is a Xinruilian RDM4010S. 40x40x10 mm. Rated at 6000RPM, 6.17cfm & 27.87dba.

I'm looking for a replacement fan that's *much* quieter. The lowest dBA I can get my hands on would be the best. The fan right now sounds like a freegin hair dryer when on. So, since I know you guys know your stuff, I'm turning to you guys for help.

Can anybody make some fan suggestions?

Sunon's Maglev vapo-bearing 40mm fan is quiet. 6.3cfm @ 18dB sound good to you?

All Swiftech MCX159 northbridge coolers have this fan. Mine's sitting in my lap. :D

That is certainly the quietest fan I have found so far. Is any fans possibly quieter? :)

I just had a brainstorm. I'll go ahead and cut a hole out on the top of the case and put a larger fan there. So, now the question changes - whats the best fan, pref. around 60mm with the lowest noise dBA?

I found this fan is just about the best:
60x60x25, SilenX SX-060-08 (Hypro): 1400RPM, 9CFM @ 8dBA (12V @ 1.2W)

Anybody have any experiences with this fan?

i've used a 80mm silenx. was extremely quiet but i'm not sure if it pushed as much air as was advertised.
 
Can't you just run your external HHD without a 40mm whiner? That would be most quiet.
 
Here's a 60mm fan that piques my interest. Thinner than something like a Vantec Stealth which is 60X60X25, but pushes 31cfm while being "whisper quiet"? Anyone have one of these?
