Quiet SFF

I'm trying to build a quiet SFF, and because of what I've read I will probably stay away from Shuttles. The Aria is not much bigger than your average Shuttle, and thus I think I'll go with it for expandability plus it's apparent quietness.

My main question is if I can fit the following in it. First, I know it's possible to get a Zalman CNPS-7000 (A/B) into an Aria from that link. Basically, can I get that in there along with a ZM80D-HP or ZM80C-HP, both probably with a ZM-OP1.

I'd probably be using this motherboard. I really just want to have the only non silent-ish fan be the PSU fan, and hope that the Aria PSU fan makes me happy.

Thanks! ;)

there are effective ways to silence shuttle,

but. . . if you must go the ARia route, the 120mm fan that is included in the PSU gets quite noticeable when the heat starts to rise within the case, lots of people have complalined about them not being that "quiet"

the gpu coolers: they do not fit without mods, the backside of the gpu cooler pushes up against the PSU, im sure you could just dremel part of it to fit, and that small piece you cut out should be negligable since you are usin the Zalman slim fan (unsure it will fit with the middle hard drive mounted on the cartridge

Don't know why you would get a nice Antec Aria and throw an underperforming, overpriced, overheated CPU such as a P4. I would go the AMD 64 Route for a better computing platform. I have 2 shuttles and 1 Antec Aria that I built an AMD 64 into. Someone please tell me how to quiet those shuttle pc's they are both sng45's .
The Antec Aria fan was loud but if you cut off the outer grill as you can see if you have athe Aria the 120mm fan has a grill on it and the case has another grill covering the fan grill so cut the case grill and it will be whisper quiet even when the fan reaches max capacity :)

Right now I have a fairly old 2.4B that easily does 3.2 @ stock voltage with the stock HSF, so I see no real reason to upgrade. (keyword being real, not that devil on my shoulder telling me to buy every new part) I'm guessing that if I overclock it only slightly that I won't run into any heating problems. I also haven't gone back to AMD since I had troubles with my old Via chipset. I've come to regard Intel chipsets as godlike as I have had 0 problems with my current board.

Thanks for the advice on cutting out the outer grill, that's exactly what I need to hear ;)

ya that was ur first problem, you went with a VIA chipset
Could you explain or link to how I can effectively silence a Shuttle? I've heard bad things about the PSU fans.
