Quiet pump?

Hi

I have had a watercooled setup for about 18 months now and am about ready to upgrade from S939 to LGA775. My TDX block should be good as I got a universal bracket (if not I'll darn well make it fit!) and my Rad is great (Thermochill PA120.3) but the pump has been a real disappointment. Its a noisy little bugger, even with a layer of foam underneath it - I can hear it one floor down as a seriously strong hum/vibration.

I have bled the system several times and got rid of the squelching noises from air bubbles, so I am 99.9% sure that is not the problem, I think this pump may just be noisy - it looks the same as the swiftech MCP-600:

but I think it is actually an Aqua computer z150 or something as it doesn't have the swiftech label on it

Anyway, is it worth looking to have the pump worked on or should I just sell it and go for something else?

IF so, what are the quietest pumps around?

Thanks
J

good pumps are pretty expensive so if u can salvage it, it might be worth a try.

im using a Swiftech MCP655 and even at the highest setting i still cant here it. i occasionally have to put my ear next to it or look at the res to make sure its working.

You're thinking of the AquaXtreme 50Z. I've heard over on XS these things take a few days to quiet up or whatever--how long have you had it? Have you tried putting it on some foam?

I've gotten great results with a DD D5 on the "variable" setting.

The quietest pumps around are from Ehiem. If money is no object, then I suggest you grab a 1260 for $115:

Or a 1250 for $69.99:

Had it running for 18 months, so I think it should have run in by now :D

I will have a loot at Eheim or maybe the Laing vario

Any more feedback still appreciated

Thanks
