Are there any halfway decent modular PSU's out there that aren't too backbreaking expensive? I have a TT Purepower right now and he noise is driving me crazy, and it has WAY too many connectors that i'm not using uglying the case up. Any recommendations?

Under 75? My TT was 36 bucks, but I now see the follies on spending 36 bucks no a friggin PSU, although my last PSU I bought in south america for 45 pesos (sol-tech?) ran a hell of alot cooler and quieter, unfortunately it's only 230v... Under 75 if not anything that's close around that price range.

That TTG is right on the spot! Budgetwise, quietwise and looks! I like the Antec, it's a little beyond my budget right now though, I don't think I need anything up in the 500 range for my current setup (sig) and the extra few bucks will get me a new case which i desperately need right now too. thanks guys!

ok, I vote for the ultra-x 500w

haha j/k :) modstream will be perfect for you then.

I was in the same spot as you just recently. I decided to bite the bullet and buy a PSU that has more power than I need now but will last me through many more upgrades. Tha being said, my vote is for the Antec NeoPower 480. I know it's $40 more than your budget now, but you won't need to buy another one for a long time.....not to mention it is ROCK SOLID. Oh yeah, it's VERY quiet also. I didn't realize most of the noise coming from my case was the old crappy PSU....noisy fans.

Score another vote for the modstream. I'm on my 16th build with them. 450W never falters, even on the gaming rigs. I put the 550W version in the machines with lots of hard drives though. The Ultra X-Connect was pretty unstable. Haven't tried the Coolermaster yet. I know what works and I'm sticking with it =) Quiet, and stable.

Only problem I see with the OCZ Modstream is that it only has 2 SATA connectors. Some of my big-rig video editing machines will go up to 6 hard drives, so I've been using molex->SATA adapters. No complaints...yet...
