Quiet DVD Burner

For an upcoming build, I play to use my PC to watch movies. As such, I'd rather not have a loud whirring noise coming from my DVD Player, but I'd also like to have the convenience of a Burner. Any advice for a DVD Burner that won't interrupt my movies?
 
In my experience, all I ever did was limit the read speed of the device. Just about any drive out there is quiet at 4x but goes nuts as you churn past 8 and get to 16x.

There are software utilities out there like Nero Drivespeed
