Quiet CPU fan for an XP

hey i need some help...currently i got a xp 2000+ with a dragon orb 3 on it...damn thing is LOUD!!!! i need a different fan...wut is a good quiet fan for a 2000+ xp...i dont overclock it so i dont need to worry about that...i just need something quiet cause im gettin tired of hearing this damn thing every place i walk in my apt....thanks

ps. the dragon orbs dBa level is listed as 37dBa....

I will warn on the Speeze/Masscool HSFs, although mine was a different model than those two that were mentioned, it had bad machining marks. E.g. the bottom of the HSF was very rough, not just visually but you could easily feel it. Grooves are about 1/32 deep.

well i read some reviews on teh one retardedchicken posted and it appears to be pretty good...also i found it for $12.00 with no shippin @ censuspc.com....came out to $12.99 with tax...

Okay well I got that fan today....thing f'ing SUCKS....just puttin it in and goin into the bios, 176F BLAH! i say.....tried loading xp, nothing....safe mdoe...said my ntoskrnl was corrupt...tried everythign i can think of but nothing....slapped back on my old fan...everythign runs perfect....i emailed the place i got it from to find out about gettin a refund for such a crappy product

hmmm u sure??? wat core is ur 2000+? a palamino or t-bred? my 1700+ @ 2500 speeds on that heatsinks was only at 41*C in a case with one 80mm exhaust fan......maybe u installed the heatsink backwards?? if that doesnt work juss pick up the cooler master aero 7 lite (cheap fan that works great....looks lik a hampster cage on a heatsinks)

if you want the quietest solution, get the XP-90 with a Nexus Real Quiet Fan
but expect to pay around $60

if you want something more affordable, pickup the Zalman 7000 for $20

the Zalman is pretty quiet and depending on what else you have in your case, you may not be able to hear a difference between that and the Nexus

im pretty sure i put it on correctly...theres a a prtion thats raised that i assuem goes over where it says socket 462, put that over it....umm honestly coudlnt tell u if its palamino or t-bred...all i know its green...hehe....yes i know lame....but ive had it for so long i cant remeber...
