I was wondering which case would be more silent: the Antec 900 or 182? I was thinking that with the 120mm exhaust and massive 200mm top fan of the 900 I could run a heatsink on a C2D fanless and just depend on those two fans for airflow. My only concern is that because the 900 is so "open" that this will cause sound to leak out, whereas the 182 is more enclosed...

Insulated side panels help a lot on the 180/182. If you buy a 180 from Newegg it will likely come with all the 182 improvements, so unless you just want gunmetal instead of black or silver, the cash saved might be worthwhile, not sure if you're on any sort of budget here.

An NZXT Adamas might be another option -- I really wish I'd bought one when they were on sale for $99 at Newegg, but won't pay $200 for a case, so.. so much for that.

Running a passive HS probably isn't a great idea with a 180/182 though. Buy a couple of low noise fans, mount one on your HS and one in the extra fan mount in the 180, leave the 3 included Antec tricools on low, and you should be cool and quiet.

Thanks for the info. Trying to either quiet this beast down a bit or build a new rig. Unplugged the NB fan on my NF7 and that made a huge difference. I actually just have 1 case fan running in my current POS mid-tower along with the 2 PSU fans. New case + new PSU would, I believe, quiet it down quite a bit more. If I could just get this system to within bearable noise levels I wouldn't have to rebuild.
