Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The zalman vf1000 another vote here. I put mine in today temps dropped from 54c idle and 78c load to 34c idle and 46C load and the load temps are now with the core overclocked to 700mhz. It works great for this card and looks really cool too.
i installed my hd 4850 and accelero s1 with an 80mm antec tri-cool fan today. i reused the portion of the stock heatsink that covers the VRs and used the accelero's stick on ram sinks. i let the card heat up in the florida sun for about an hour and the ram sinks adhered firmly.
the antec fan is set to medium and i can't hear it. ccc auto-tuned the card to 690mhz core/1155mhz ram and temps were about 40c idle/62c peak (76f room temp). i might try to get it to 725mhz core if i have time to waste. played a bit of bioshock and hl2 ep2 without issue and cranked up the settings quite a bit (old card was x1950pro).
If you get a non-Asus card, then you can flash the BIOS using the methods in this thread. The card will idle at a very low 160 MHz, which means the fan is always on the lowest setting except when playing games.
