I got a sunbeam lightbus but its silver and planning on getting a antec 900 whats obviously black. only asthetical but what options are there when it comes to making it black. thanks
 
That's gonna be a lot of work to change it to black. I'd say just try and exchange it for the black version.
 
Well the lightbus are pretty much 1 of there kind in terms of features so can't get another. They are discontinued. They are sold pretty much nowhere now and I only see them in silver. The last one i bought from a foreign danish webshop was the last in stock.
 
update:

found out its got like a perspex clear front on it. i unscrewed it and this is what it looks like. I was thinking how would i be able to paint the back of it black so it shows black through and not silver.

-tape the front of the bezel and spray paint the backside black
or
-get some black paper u cut to size and stick it behind the clear bezel (so u would be able to change color again if u have to)
 
Isn't the lightbus aluminum? Just get the actual frame anonized/powdercoated (if you can paint it yourself do that). Another option would be to use some vinyl overlay on top of the actual frame behind the clear front bezel.
 
yeah its the alluminium silver one. only shop i could find it at was silver and last one in stock so got lucky to get it i supose. the paper behind then screwed to be in between sounds best tbh/ just tryed cutting some paper with a stanley and didnt seem sharp enough to cut circles. any other ideas. I rekon the electrical tape would leave a residue.
 
just paint the backside of the acrylic (?) front panel. since the front side is shiny anyways, you could do a really quick and dirty paint job and it would still look great.
 
aye but what paint cause im sure most paint would just not stick very well to this material.
 
Sand the back of it (to create better adhesion). Find Spray Paint that is meant for plastics (Krylon Fusion I think it's called... but there are other brands.)

Tape off what you don't want to be painted, and begin spraying!
 
Go to the paint section of your local hardware store and ask one of the employees to point you toward the proper paint for acrylic plastics. Buy a can of black and spray the piece. Let it dry, screw it back on, and you've got a shiny new black bezel.
 
Ok well went with the paper idea. Went well, simply marked it out with the plastic as template then used a stanley to cut out.Then just got a black perm marker to turn the white edges from the cutting black. Ended up looking nice and thanks for responses...
